The other key members of the management team of the Company are as follows:
Ed Aylmer (BFS Study Manager)
Ed is the Moonlight Iron Ore Study Manager. Ed has more than 30 years’ experience in the mining and mineral processing industries, including a number of senior roles in study management, business development marketing and proposals. His experience covers commodities such as iron ore, zinc, platinum, gold, copper, uranium and coal, and he has acted as senior study manager for project developments on behalf of Severstal, Vendanta, Goldfields and Ivanplats. He is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ed's recent experience was in the role of Manager Studies Client Liaison with AMEC. This involved management and coordination of the study managers group to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and involved ongoing client liaison through the various study phases. Studies carried out with the study managers group included:
- early stage of Moonlight Iron Ore Project BFS (before it was placed on hold in 2012);
- DFS for Jonah Capital's Buchanan Iron Ore Tailings Project in Liberia;
- PFS for Severstal's Putu Iron Ore Project in Liberia;
- PFS for Ma'adens Humaymah and CAGR Gold Projects in Saudi Arabia;
- Scoping study for Ivanplatinum's Kamoa Copper Project in the DRC; and
- DFS for CuCo Resources' copper project in the DRC.
Ed was also directly responsible as Study Manager for:
- Black Mountain Mining's Gamsberg Zinc Project in South Africa (a multi-disciplinary project that included open cast mining, processing plant, tailings facilities, waste rock dumps, power/water infrastructure, road and rail transport, and port upgrade facilities at Saldanha Bay;
- Goldfields' Takwa gold expansion project in Ghana.
Ed's extensive study management experience and previous involvement with Moonlight will be of great benefit and value in the completion of the BFS for the Project.
Scott Huntly (Strategic Development Manager)
Mr Huntly, who is a mining engineer with over 31 years' experience in the mining industry, principally within South Africa, is part of the company's management team and is based in Johannesburg. He has extensive experience within government in South Africa and of working with several exploration and mining companies within the country (including Aquarius Platinum Limited and Sylvania Resources Limited), especially during the companies' transition from exploration to development. He is an executive director of various Group subsidiaries and is charged with the primary responsibility of strategic development and community and government relations.
Beverley Gardner (Financial Controller)
Mrs Gardner is a Chartered Secretary with many years' experience in project accounting and administering the financial control of small and medium sized businesses. She is South African and is based in the Johannesburg office, where she is in daily control of the financial and accounting functions for the Company.
Lindsay Cahill (Consultant Geologist)
Mr Cahill is a geologist with more than 28 years experience in the minerals exploration and mining industry. A member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, he has undertaken and managed exploration and resource development programmes for a range of commodities in a wide variety of geological environments within Australia, southern Africa, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. In addition, Mr Cahill was the senior resource geologist for Highlands Gold Limited, based in Port Moresby, and resource evaluation manager for the Bulong and Marlborough laterite nickel project. Mr Cahill has managed the Company's exploration programmes in RSA and reviewed and planned exploration for several magnetite deposits in Australia. With extensive experience in resource studies, feasibility testwork, commissioning and liaison with government and statutory bodies, Mr Cahill has an in-depth knowledge of sound environmental practices.
